Dissertation Project: "Give a child a voice": Investigating voice and advocacy in a Court Appointed Special Advocate Program.
For my dissertation project, I am conducting a critical ethnographic study of a local Court Appointed Special Advocate Training Program. This study takes a feminist dialogic approach to examining an organization that trains and monitors volunteers appointed to speak on behalf of foster children in court. The project is aimed at the goal of crystallization, as developed by Ellingson (2009), and thus will include multiple strategies for data representation.
